July 4^th – 11^th 2003

- Are 16 - 25 years old and a skilled instrumentalist or singer...
- Want to meet young musicians from other countries and learn about their music...
- Like to teach your music to others, make friends and have a very good time...

Then ETHNO 2003 could be the highlight of your summer!!!

ETHNO welcomes
all instruments including vocal traditions. All participants will get practice in adapting their music to other instruments than their own.

The 14^th edition
of the annual international folk music camp ETHNO will take place in the summer of 2003. Over the years it has become an important meeting place for a new generation of folk musicians and influenced many young people from all over the world. Every year musicians from ten to twelve different countries – from Europe, Africa, Asia and America – participate in the camp.

ETHNO is based on workshops,
where the participants teach each other. The teaching and learning will mainly be by ear, but written music can be used for support. ETHNO is not based on performances, but you will have the opportunity to present your music and what you’ve learned by participating at some concerts, evening dances and street performances. Ethno is not a contest or competition.

ETHNO 2003
as usual takes place in Falun, a small Swedish town 250 km northwest of the capital Stockholm. The closing event of the camp takes place during the famous Falun Folkmusik Festival July 9^th – 12^th 2003, the major folk- & world music event in the Nordic countries with top artists from all over the world and thousands of enthusiastic visitors!

Deltagaravgift m m
Deltagaravgiften för nordiska deltagare är 1 900 SEK per person. I avgiften ingår frukost, lunch och middag under ETHNO samt masslogi – även under Falun Folkmusik Festival!

Obs! För att anmälan skall vara giltig måste du betala en anmälningsavgift på 500 SEK på postgiro 27 125-4 (Rikskonserter). Märk talongen med Ditt namn och "ETHNO". Om du inte blir antagen återbetalas avgiften. När du fått besked att du blivit antagen betalas resterande deltagaravgift. Har man deltagit i ETHNO två år i rad blir man antagen enbart i mån av plats
