Polska - A very Swedish dance

Are you curious to learn this stepping and spinning Swedish dance but don't know where to start? Maybe you've even tried it once or twice and been discouraged or maybe you just think it's too hard to learn? Well, forget it! In this class you going to be guided with ease and knowledge into the world of polska. Take a chance and let yourself go in the music and rhythm. We promise you'll love it.

This class teaches the fundamentals of the polska to beginners or those who can already dance polska and want to develop their style more. We won't be working with a lot of different polska variations, the focus for the course is on actual dancing, i.e. dancing with a partner, sensitivity towards the partner, technique, expression and balance between dance and music.

The course is five hours each day spread over one session in the forenoon and one session in the afternoon.

The instructor is Nana Heinberg - who are educated in folk dance at the Academy of Dance, Stockholm. She has a fulltime job as a dance teacher in Falun, and teaches polska at courses and workshops all over the country. Nana dances in the group Klacklek.

Anders Nygårds is the fiddler providing live accompaniment during the course.

Fee 1 750 SEK.
