YOUNG FIDDLERS (Sweden)

Every year a few young talented musicians are selected by Sveriges Spelmäns Riksförbund - The Swedish Traditional Musicians National Organisation - and given the opportunity to spend a week in close contact with the foremost people in traditional and world music at the festival.

Falun Folkmusik Festival is their host, and many of the youngsters who have spent a week here has later developed to in their own turn becoming the great fiddlers and musicians of today.

It is part of the tradition that the Young Fiddlers introduce themselves to the festival audience in a concert.

The fiddlers this year are Frida Andersson, Josefina Paulson, Britta Holmén, Pär Mattsson, Dan Karlsson and Jeanette Eriksson
