MÍSE (UK)

Míse is a four piece band from Hertfordshire and Essex containing three All Ireland champions who despite their young age have made an impression on the Irish music scene in Britain.

Featuring Uilleann Pipes, Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Accordion, Bodhrán and more, Míse are versatile and varied, gripping their audience with the power of their music.

Although staying true to their roots, Míse have taken the music and filled it with their own, arrangements and compositions - thus breathing new life into the living tradition.

Liam O'Sullivan - Accordion - is an all Britain champion, started playing at the age of ten and has developed a lively style which gives great lift to the music of the group.

Matt Griffin - Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Whistles - twice an All Ireland Champion, started playing at the age of six, starting with the Whistle and the Mandolin, picking up the Banjo and Guitar along the way.

Tim Dowd - Uilleann Pipes, Flute, Whistles - roots the band to the tradition from which it originated. A two time All Ireland Champion, Tim started the whistle at the age of six, moving on to the Uilleann Pipes at nine.

Daniel Griffin started playing the Bodhrán at the age of five, winning the All Ireland in August 2000.
