CHRISTIAN KJELLVANDER

Christian Kjellvander continues his journey along the path he chose years ago. “Songs From a Two-Room Chapel” is the debut album from this Swedish-born, American-grown singer/songwriter, but he is in no way a stranger to the territory. Back in 1993, upon moving to Sweden from the US, a young Kjellvander formed the band Loosegoats and during the first few years of existence it remained a one-man deal.

As years went Looegoats grew into a stable crew of musicians contributing their instrumental qualities to the songs and visions of Kjellvander. In the past five years Christian has released four albums with Loosegoats and one collaboration under the name Songs of Soil. Last year; following a pretty nasty car wreck, Loosegoats chose to take some time off. So Christian decided to move on..... and so he has!

Now we see Kjellvander in a new light taking another step toward his one and only goal -“to make good records”. This time around his soundscape has been elaborated by introducing instruments such as strings, horns, mellotron and spinette. This, mixed with Kjellvander’s blend of American/European folk, country and rock, is a welcome breeze for fans of Americana. His deep voice and enchanting lyrics offer vivid pictures of times past but also lend hope for times to come.
