She possesses a wide range of vocal expressions, from old time folk song techniques like kulning to baroque, jazz and modern artistic music. She has been a pioneer in the rediscovery of old folk singing styles and in using these old styles in new artistic contexts by working with some of Sweden's most talked about composers and directors. She founded several of the country's most well known folk music groups, including Rosenbergs Sjua (Rosenberg Seven) and Rotvälta and she has toured extensively worldwide. In 1999 she was the featured solist in Japan's Ryuichi Sakamotos Opera LIFE and she has released a number of recordings since the 1980s.
