Our voice is probably the mopst varied of all our instruments. There are endless variations in sound and expressions that one can find in different parts all around the world. All these can be found within every person, since our ”sound system” looks the same regardless if you live in Avesta or Ulan Bator... Join us on a journey into the world of voices. We’re going to try some singing techniques from around the world, for example kulning, pygmy singing, throat singing, Arabian style singing and Bulgarian singing techniques among others. We will also be improvising with our voices, creating sound-poetry and hope that your creativity will develop, that you will be encouraged and inspired to continue your exploration. One of Sweden’s most prominent figures in vocal music, Marie Selander, is the instructor of this course. She is very experienced, both as a singer and a pedagogue. The course is intended for professional singers as well actors and interested amateurs. No pre-knowledge is required, just curiosity. Fee: 2 500 SEK. | sunday-friday |
