Cuba is a multicultural country with several religions, for example Santeria from Nigeria, Palo from Congo and Gaga from Haiti.During this week you will learn some dances originating within these religions. From Santeria we will dance Orisha-dances (The dances of Gods) such as the sea goddess Yemayas dance and the fire- and thunder God Changos dance. The war dance Palo from Congo and the carnival dance Ga from Haiti. This is a beginner’s course so you don’t need any prior knowledge, just a longing for the opportunity to move to the AfroCuban music. The dances that we work with are danced in groups. Instructors are Gunilla Skog and Argelio Siloga Ramirez, they also instruct the Salsa course. Fee: 1 600 SEK. | sunday-friday morning |
