Yindi Garra
Sweden
Yindi
Garra means "the child’s song" in the language of the
aborigines that live in the northern parts of Australia. The
multi-cultural members of Yindi
Garra have, through their music, found something that people all
over the world have in common - dancing. Yindi
Garra are influenced by different varieties of folk music. A song
starting with a Northern jojk transforms into an Arabian theme and these
two are then merged to form a new kind of music where many cultures unite.
Yindi Garra want to take the
listener to the world of dreams for a while. The first half of the show is
slow and suggestive. In the second half, Yindi
Garra show a multitude of rhythms in something that they call
Tribal techno.
