Artists 2001 Ungt Folk - Young Folks Through the project Ungt Folk - Young Folks - Dalarnas spelmansförbund is trying to stimulate and develop the interest for folk music among young people – through establishing contacts between young musicians and by supporting the music schools and young fiddlers’ organisations. They have arranged several weekend workshops and one big rally in Rättvik for the young fiddlers. This fall, the music schools of Ludvika/Smedjebacken and Malung will start folk music organisations. Young folks isn’t only for the young, everyone is welcome – the point with the project is after all to keep the great tradition alive, which sometimes can lead to a situation where people with more than 80 years between them play together.
