Artists 2001
La Bottine Souriante (the Smiling Boot) have played the Falun Folk Music festival twice before, in 1990 and in 1997. For those of you who missed their show – don’t ever make that mistake again! This unique French-Canadian folk-turbo is the Quebec province’s most famous music export. The group was founded as early as 1976 and has a large number of awards; they have been called the best live act in the world. These fellows are nine generous musicians with their roots in French/Irish/Scottish/ North American folk music – and they all have that sparkle of rock n’ roll in their eyes and they have at least seven jazz cats hidden in their instrument cases. The fiddles, the accordion, the wind instruments together with the singing are the main elements in the group’s sizzling music. A pair of shoes and piece of plywood are an equally important and unforgettable part of the show! This is pure rhythmical dynamite! | Friday Main Stage 23.00 |
