Karen Tweed & Ian Karr - England

Karen Tweed and Ian Carr offer a blend of the best of contemporary and traditional English folk music. Yet we don't have to issue a guarantee against a repeat performance. A fresh wind from many parts of the North Sea blows whenever this duo meets.

Karen Tweed on accordion and Ian Carr on guitar are musical buddies This is very clear from their playing, they support, fill in and interweave their instruments like few others. They play without pretensions, a bit like the kitchen sink realism of British films but in happier colours. As a listener you are invited to their kitchen table. A merry jig will bring on an urge to dance - just move the chairs aside and go...

Karen Tweed and Ian Carr perform together in many contexts, Ian's guitar is heard in Kathryn Tickell Band and Karen's accordion in The Poozies.

In Sweden they are perhaps best known for their musical exchange in Swåp with Swedish fiddlers Ola Bäckström and Carina Normansson.
