Jan Ekedahl & Hållus Totte Mattson

What is Swedish folk music played on lute and guitar supposed to sound like? Jan Ekedahl and Hållbus Totte Mattsson have been playing very big parts in the development of the folk music scene in Sweden for the last 20 years. They have shown the way, be it with tones or tunes, chords on a guitar or a swinging polska. They are inspiring players and teachers and they work their strings in bands such as Gunnfjauns Kapell, Groupa and Hedningarna.

This duo’s music contains a lot of unexpected twists and turns that flow between Totte’s lutes and Jan’s guitars. You will hear many musical dialogues and monologues in the Nordic-Celtic tradition.
