Ethno is a project co-produced by the Swedish Concert Institute, JM Sweden and Falun Folkmusik Festival. Every year, about one hundred of young folk musicians come together before and during the festival. Ethno is about teaching your own music dances and ballads to people from other countries and in turn learning from them. There will be many workshops, dance evenings but also excursions and concerts. The people attending the festival will notice their presence many times and in many ways. This year the young musicians come from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Algeria, Ghana and Mozambique. There’s even a 15-year-old-girl from Tianjin, 200 km from Beijing in China. | Monday
